Keeping Dreams In Sight: Celebrating 10 Years of Impact, Partnerships, and Possibility
Partners for Pediatric Vision's 10-Year Anniversary Celebration | October 17, 2026 | Portofino Hotel & Marina, Redondo Beach, California
On a beautiful October evening overlooking the Redondo Beach harbor, supporters, partner eye doctors, families, and friends of Partners for Pediatric Vision (PPV) gathered at the Portofino Hotel & Marina to celebrate a remarkable milestone: 10 years of turning possibilities into achievements for children with visual impairment and their families.

PPV's Keeping Dreams In Sight 10-Year Anniversary Celebration honored a decade of compassion, connection, and meaningful impact while looking ahead to the future of pediatric vision education and family support. Thanks to the generosity of our incredible community, the evening raised over $100,000 to support PPV's free services for children with visual impairment and their families.
It was a night to celebrate how far we've come, recognize those who have helped make our work possible, and reaffirm our commitment to the children and families who inspire our mission every day.
Honoring Those Who Help Support Our Mission
A highlight of the evening was recognizing Pediatric Ophthalmologist Dr. Teresa Rosales with PPV's Partnership Award and Carol and Jerry Marcil, with PPV's Visionary in Philanthropy award. Our Board and leadership reflected deeply on the individuals and partners whose commitment has helped shape our mission and strengthen our impact when choosing our honorees.

Dr. Teresa Rosales — Partnership Award
Dr. Rosales began volunteering with PPV after she retired from decades of private practice at Family Eye Medical in Long Beach where she provided compassionate vision care for many of the children served in our programs. She is a beloved speaker at our parent support groups and webinars in English and Spanish and is helping spread awareness about our services.

Carol and Jerry Marcil — Visionary in Philanthropy Award
In 2016 when Partners for Pediatric Vision was founded, the Marcil's donated critical start-up funding that helped establish PPV as a non-profit. Carol and Jerry's support in the early months of PPV and in the ten years since has been pivotal to the stability, growth and expansion of our services and the life-changing difference that happens when children with vision loss have the support they need to succeed.

A Parent's Story: Finding Answers, Guidance, and Support
One of the evening's most meaningful moments came from PPV parent speaker Aria Davis, who shared her family's journey navigating her children's vision loss. Aria's daughter Aubrey and son Berkeley have the diagnosis of Optic Nerve Atrophy.
Aria spoke about the challenges she faced while searching for information, guidance, and support to better understand how much Aubrey and Berkeley can see and and how to help them. Finding Partners for Pediatric Vision after struggling for answers was the first time Aria understood their vision and was given hope and the strategies needed to maximize their reduced sight. Aria returned to college with the encouragement of her PPV team, and has completed her Masters and teaching credential in Special Education. Inspired and motivated by the opportunity to improve services for children like her own, Aria is continuing her studies as a doctoral candidate in Learning Disabilities.
Her story reflected an experience that many of our families face: navigating a child's vision diagnosis can feel overwhelming, especially when answers and resources are difficult to find. Through family education, support groups, well-being calls, advocacy awareness, and connections to resources, PPV works to ensure families don't have to navigate that journey alone.
Ten Years of Impact — And a Future Full of Possibility
Partners for Pediatric Vision services would not be possible without the generosity of our donors, the collaboration of our pediatric partner eye doctors, and the dedication of the community that continues to believe in our mission.
Thanks to generous sponsors and donors we raised over $100,000 to support PPV's free pediatric vision education and family support services to children ages birth to 18 in Southern CA.
Every contribution matches one of our Child and Family Vision Specialists with a family of a child at-risk for, or experiencing vision concerns. Our services fill the gap in what schools, medical providers and others do not provide or fund; critical low vision education, devices, resources, guidance, and support that make a difference in the lives of children and their families.
